54-year-old Russell Poling was killed in a three-vehicle accident on I-75 Tuesday morning, January 14, 2014.

Russell Poling I-75 Accident.jpgAccording to Georgia State Patrol, traffic was stopped in the northbound lanes of I-75, near Exit 64, for an earlier accident. Russell Poling, of Orlando, was either slowing or stopped in his Toyota Prius in the inside lane when a GMC Envoy crashed into the back of Mr. Poling's Prius, forcing it into a stopped semi-truck in the middle lane. Tragically, Mr. Poling perished from his injuries.

Accident attorneys at The Murray Law Firm are investigating why the Envoy driver was unable to stop in time and whether distraction was a factor in this tragedy. With over 3,300 deaths last year, distracted driving has become a deadly epidemic across the country.

Why did the driver of the Envoy fail to notice oncoming traffic was stopped? Was the driver engaged in texting, a GPS device or cellphone use?

Russell Poling Accident.jpgAs the details of this horrific accident continue to emerge, the family of Mr. Poling may elect to hold the Envoy driver civilly liable for his wrongful death. Such a substantial claim will serve as a grave reminder to other drivers of the perils of distracted driving. Unfortunately, as insurance companies are often less concerned with the needs and rights of victims than their own financial exposure, we recommend the family seek an experienced personal injury firm without delay to protect their best interests.

The Murray Law Firm has garnered substantial recoveries for victims and families devastated by distracted drivers. We work tirelessly to find justice for the families of these needless tragedies and to raise public awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Our prayers are with the family of Russell Poling and we offer our legal expertise, if needed.
