A family is searching for answers after 70-year-old Marcella O. Bellamy was killed in a hit and run accident Friday night, January 4, 2019.
Police told 11 Alive, Ms. Bellamy “had just left a store and was crossing James Jackson Parkway near Proctor Street when a SUV hit her. Police said it did not stop.” Ms. Bellamy was then struck a second time by a driver who did stop and call police.
Police are now searching for the identity of the first driver. A family member told The AJC, “she has forgiven the driver, and she hopes the woman can forgive herself and surrender to police.”
