Could this tragic loss have been prevented are justice and compensation available to Decoby Barlow’s family?
Decoby Barlow was “caught in the crossfire and…killed when three men opened fire on each other at Traxx Lounge and Grill early Sunday morning,” December 9, 2018, according to WSB-TV 2.
“Based on our preliminary investigation, it looks like an altercation between approximately three individuals inside the bar that bled out into the parking lot area where shots were fired,” police told The Henry Herald. “A patron walking out of the bar was hit by a stray bullet.”

- What parking lot security measures, such as bright lighting, monitored surveillance cameras, trained security personnel, and off-duty police, were in place to deter crime and protect Mr. Barlow at the time of the shooting?
- What efforts were made by nightclub management and security to safely and separately remove all those involved in the initial altercation from the premises, prior to an escalation to gunfire? Were police called at the start of the initial dispute?
By law, property owners in Georgia are required to protect all those legally on the premises from any foreseeable harm. Should the facts of this matter reveal that the nightclub owner failed to provide adequate security, Decoby Barlow’s family may seek justice and elect to pursue legal claims for his wrongful death.
