56-year-old Michael A. Michael of Kennesaw was killed in a Cobb Parkway motorcycle accident Wednesday evening, July 24, 2013. As the community mourns his loss, investigators are questioning whether the driver who hit him was speeding or distracted at the time of the accident.
According to Marietta Police, Mr. Michael was headed southbound on Cobb Parkway on his 1980 Harley Davidson motorcycle. 21-year-old Chevelle Gore, of Powder Springs, was in the northbound lane, apparently attempting to turn left onto White Ave. Ms. Gore turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, causing Mr. Michael to crash into the right front side of the Mazda.
Rescue crews transported Mr. Michael to Well Star Kennestone Hospital where he later perished from his injuries. Charges are still pending as police continue their investigation.
